The Wyse 3040 is industry's first entry-level Intel x86 quad-core thin
client.
Features
Equipped with twice the number of CPU cores, this cost-effective endpoint is capable of supporting light multitasking and basic productivity. The Wyse 3040 features hardened, optimized Wyse ThinLinux as well as virus-resistant Wyse ThinOS. Remarkably compact, the Wyse 3040 is Dell's smallest and lightest thin client and comes with flexible mounting options for space-constrained environments. It is also the most power-efficient thin client, within its class. It consumes less than 4 watts of energy and is adept at offering many years of efficient, secure and high-performance service.
The Wyse 3040 can connect to a variety of virtual desktop brokers including Citrix Xen, VMware Horizon, and Microsoft RDS right out of
the box. It offers great multimedia capabilities, and essential protocol and peripheral support including optional PCoIP that enables connection to Amazon WorkSpaces (AWS). The Wyse 3040 includes a range of connectivity options including two DisplayPort interfaces, four USB ports, one of which is USB 3.1, as well as wired and wireless network connections. Wyse Device Manager supports the Wyse R50LE thin client with scalable enterprise-wide management including simple deployment, patching and updates and asset management - all with secure end-to-end encrypted communications.
The Wyse 3040 thin client is highly manageable through Wyse Device Manager (WDM) and Wyse Cloud Client Manager (CCM). Administration easily scales from just a few to tens of thousands of thin clients.
